Our cycling friends persuaded us to participate in the Baguet Mojacar cycling course.
Since only my husband is the cycling fanatic and I am a recreational cyclist, we hesitated about it for a few years anyway.
He did not want to go on his own: together out, together at home.

But then there was the speed pedelec. That was THE solution and the choice was quickly made.
It was a very pleasant experience for both of us, pushing back frontiers for Patrick and for me sometimes with a very small heart, hoping to stay upright on the pretty tough descents.

You have a great team, take into account everyone’s abilities and inabilities, put safety first, communicate clearly and correctly and we love that. We met new people, had a nice stay, good food and beautiful weather. And…, the bikes were fine.

What more could we wish for? Would I recommend Baguet?
Definitely! Without a doubt.

As a solo female traveler I felt not just safe but truly included

My bicycle holiday was arranged through Love Velo, in partnership with Baguet Bicycle Center. The decision to book was an easy one, filled with anticipation for new roads and new faces.

The experience surpassed all expectations. From the very start, we were greeted warmly and made to feel right at home. Baguet Bicycle Center’s customer service was exceptional, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort throughout.

Cycling through the stunning roads of the Calpe region was a highlight, with its breathtaking scenery. The company of fellow riders and the expertise of our ride leaders made each day feel secure and enjoyable.

I wholeheartedly recommend these cycling holidays to anyone, whether traveling solo or with a group. The organisation was flawless, with attentive staff always there to assist. As a solo female traveler joining Baguet Bicycle Center in Calpe, I felt not just safe but truly included. Our group bonded wonderfully, riding together smoothly under the watchful eye of our guide, Flor, who made sure no one was left behind.

Baguet Bicycle Center even mentioned they would aim to provide ladies’ toilets at stops for the next trip, a thoughtful gesture though the current arrangements were not too inconvenient. I simply waited until we returned to the hotel.

As in Mojacar, it was a nice cycling holiday: well organised, sporty but still relaxed

After a first positive experience with a cycling holiday from Baguet Bicycle Centre in Mojacar, we were keen to try Calpe this year. And we had absolutely no regrets.

The slightly tougher courses certainly made it a challenge. But thanks to the guidance that always adapted to everyone’s level, it felt safe and good. As in Mojacar, it was a nice cycling holiday: well organised, sporty but still relaxed.

So definitely recommended to everyone.

I chose Baguet Bicycle Center because the person in charge on site (Dirk V) displays a very professional expertise. Dirk’s presentation this winter also persuaded me to join Baguet Bicycle Center. The “promises” made during the presentations were all fulfilled as well.

It was top notch and worth repeating : very competent guides with Dirk & Wim, pushing your limits in a “friendly and fun” way (I had never ridden up a hill before), very good briefings and a nice hotel.

What I should certainly not forget to mention are the very good bikes, the top guides, the nice photo memories, the beautiful course.

In short : everything was valuable.

So definitely recommended for those who want to bike in ideal conditions and with top-notch guidance.

I was looking for a suitable cycling vacation in Spain. Through friends who asked to join me, I ended up at Baguet Bicycle Center in Mojacar. I didn’t hesitate for a moment and it was really wonderful; I enjoyed it immensely.

The organisation, guidance, equipment, hotel and overall atmosphere are outstanding. It was clear that everything was taken care of to perfection, which created a positive and fun atmosphere throughout the trip.

One point of improvement concerns the insurance of the rental bike against damage: suggestion is to charge it in the package and not offer it afterwards on the spot. But this does not alter the fact that this cycling vacation was a fantastic experience that I would recommend to anyone.

I only have one tip: Keep up the good work!

This was the second time Calpe. Last time I was there with another organisation. Because of the good reviews I didn’t hesitate and chose Baguet Bicycle Centre this time.

It was a very pleasant week in a family atmosphere. Good Ridley bikes, nice rides with enthusiastic guides, good mechanics.

At the start of the rides in 3 level groups you can fill your bottles with water or isotonic drinks. The supply along the way is also top-notch. Excess material can be dropped off easily with the car that drives from the start to the supplies. You can refill your bottles for free with isotonic drinks and water. If you want soft drinks or extra energy bars you can buy them.

Good choice of hotel, namely the Gran Hotel Sol y Mar, which is well worth its 4*.
I would definitely recommend your cycling holiday. A bike shop run with passion!

I did not hesitate to book a cycling holiday with Baguet Bicycle Center again this year

Over the past few years, I have always enjoyed good service and fun cycling holidays. Therefore, I did not hesitate to book a cycling holiday with Baguet Bicycle Center again this year. Despite the fact that we were only 3 cyclists during this cycling week (first week of Easter holidays), there were still 2 guides provided. A larger group would have been nicer though because you could change groups. Unfortunately, this was not the case. But the guidance was top-notch as always. And after the ride you can enjoy the rest in a very good hotel with great staff and ditto buffets in the restaurant.

A cycling holiday at Baguet Bicycle Center : one I would definitely recommend to anyone.

A first time cycling with a strange group of people … Would that be nice? YES

After years of repeated “just-not” and individual cycling trips, and now retired, I was able to convince my cycling friend to go to Mojacar for some fine Spanish sunshine after all. At the time I had set up the BASE-Ventoux trips as a partner in crime with Serge and finally, with far too much delay, I got a taste of his project. And it tastes like more !

Still, it felt a bit uncertain: a first time cycling with a strange group of people … Would that be nice ? YES, immediately upon arrival all doubts were gone, thanks to the “empathetic” Dirk Verzee and his colleagues!

“Thanks” to the poor winter condition and ditto extra kilos, the courses were extra challenging😉 . But the organizational picture was TOP: the support, the care, the knowledge of the routes, the fine accommodation, the top equipment, the punctual fellow riders, the clear briefings,…

Unfortunately, I had to drop out one ride because of some rough starts (at least for me alone out of a dozen cyclists). But absolutely no hard feelings at all !
What I also appreciated was the technical assistance, even repairing flat tires along the way. Just like the adjustment of the routes if the weather conditions and the capacities of the group. And I forgot to mention the laundry service and extra energy/drinks along the way.

I can highly recommend this cycling holiday: “Do you, as a sporty cycling enthusiast, want a top-class setting in a friendly atmosphere? Without cocky behaviour exercising in enjoying the challenges, and vacation next to the bike in an excellent all-in hotel for a bike-friendly budget, and never alone in a nice group : BAGUET in Spain !”

This year, for the first time, on the recommendation of an acquaintance, I participated in a cycling holiday at Baguet Bicycle Centre. Given his good experience, I did not hesitate for a moment to sign up.

And I did not regret it: the cycling holiday was great fun, with nice routes and good guidance. The hotel (Gran Hotel Sol y Mar) was also top-notch. It was a very nice group and the after bike in the Service Course was pleasant.

In short, highly recommended and ideal to prepare for the season.

Baguet Bicycle Center would also look at my suggestion to make available in advance via a link on the website some more info about the courses, the profile of the ride, the altimeters, supply locations, edm. It would be absolutely great if this could be realised.

Didier’s guidance was also top-notch. It was very clear that he knew the road and associated danger points. In fact, he also let us do ‘our thing’ when it suited. For example, on Tuesday we wanted to do a race with our 5 on Col de Rates ánd we wanted to do that extra slope behind the restaurant at the top of Col de Rates. He thought this was fine. The 5 of us were standing at the top of that weather station and suddenly he came cycling there too. This was a nice surprise for us 🙂

We will definitely come back next year!

A very positive experience worth repeating

The cycling club of which I am a member had planned a cycling trip with Baguet Bicycle Centre to Mojacar. In fact, I did not hesitate for long to go along, only it had to fit in with work during the period the club was going. That’s the only uncertainty that was an issue for me.

A cycling holiday at Baguet Bicycle Centre is an excellent choice for an (average) cyclist. You don’t have to worry about anything. Everything is taken care of for you: from booking to returning home.

For safety reasons, participants do not receive the GPS of the rides. Although sometimes this might come in handy.

But all in all, it was a very positive experience. Worth repeating.

As you had predicted during our first telephone conversation, Renilde and I experienced a super week in Mojacar.

The proposal to go on a cycling holiday in Spain had come through our cycling club Belle Vue.

As it was our first cycling holiday at Baguet Bicycle Center, we didn’t know what to expect. We hesitated for a while but it turned out to be very good in every way. The good organisation, the family atmosphere, the very good guidance: everything is taken care of.

What a spirit from Dirk and his 3 guides.

I was looking for a cycling holiday in Spain ….

I was looking for a cycling holiday in Spain and, after a quick search, came across the Baguet Bicycle Center website.

I had been playing with the idea of giving this a try for a while. When I could persuade a few cycling buddies to come along, I decided fairly quickly and booked.

It was a great experience in a nice group where I quickly felt at home. It was also pleasant to relax on the sunny terrace at the Service Course in Calpe. The focus at Baguet Bicycle Center is not only on speed and cycling but also on FUN : cyclists are never left behind, the group adapts to the weakest link, which is not only a cool slogan, but also not a empty slogan at Baguet.

The combination of cycling AND holidays makes it enjoyable. Ok, we are cycling fanatics, but during such a week it’s not just the cycling that counts but also the enjoyment of a stress-free week at work.

I would definitely recommend this cycling holiday and would especially highlight the group dynamic and combination effort/relaxation. In short, I had a good time.  And oh yes, maybe I should also mention : Gran Hotel Sol y Mar is a top hotel!

Baguet’s on-site staff gets a big 12 out of 10 from me

Previously, I had not spent a cycling vacation at Baguet Bicycle Center; it was a loyal customer who recommended it to me.

The Baguet staff on site get a big 12 out of 10 from me : they did everything they could to keep the equipment in excellent condition and were attentive to every detail as well as the wishes of each customer.

The hotel and the bikes were fantastic (10/10).

‘Five Ladies on a cycling trip in beautiful Mojacar’

It could well be the title of a good book 😉 Our cycling vacation was, in a word, “wonderful. We enjoyed it from the first to the last day. Not only the sun warmed our hearts, but also the presence of all the other cool people in the group. In particular we want to give a big compliment to Dirk and Sabine. On arrival we received a very warm welcome, everything was perfectly arranged! Super bikes adjusted to size, test ride in the afternoon on the day of arrival, every evening a detailed explanation about the ride of the next day. Every day nice pictures and movies of all participants accompanied by great music. And on the first and last day a drink and snack to go with it. We felt spoiled! On the rides we were accompanied by top people, especially Wim and Raf stand out. The quiet Wim and Raf with his juicy Kempen dialect can motivate and encourage people like no other. “up here”, “in lower gear”, “take a bar now”, we loved hearing it! And whether we could! The Bédar no longer holds any secrets for us, we whizzed down the Ramblas in the wheel of these men and one of us broke her altitude record by also cycling up the Virgin. We became real high-flyers! Hungry and thirsty along the way?… We always liked to see Dirk standing there with his van with extensive supplies, assisted by a non-cycling partner of one of the participants. It turned out that on arrival something still had to be changed on the bike – tilt the handlebars a little, eliminate awkward noises with the brakes or shifting gears, install speedometers, even repair a broken shoe – everything was always done with a smile! The real recovery shake upon arrival in the bike cellar always tasted good, our own shake in the afternoon at the pool even better! 😅 The customer is more than king at Baguet Cycling Holidays! The hotel is a winner: spacious rooms and very good food with drinks at the table included. Beautiful garden and large swimming pool. Mojacar is a really beautiful white village on a hill but easy to reach. The area is beautiful but quite arid and the roads are in very good condition and cars are hardly encountered on the drives. Our vacation read like a book – beautiful, exciting, emotional, motivating, heartwarming – but unfortunately out far too quickly! 😍 We don’t like to get ahead of ourselves but we are almost certain that we will want to come back lol! Serge Baguet Cycling Holidays comes highly recommended!
